Things I hate about promoting with Social Networking

As a new musical artist, social networking is the easiest and most effective way to get heard. I try to utilize this as best as I can, and I'm sorry if it comes off annoying, but it is very difficult to get any attention these days, and I try to get listens and fans in the nicest and most informative way I know how. Because of this I try to pay attention to the tons of artists I am friends with on facebook, etc. Some of them pursue these fans in similar, respectable ways, but most of them just straight up turn people off and make me realize why it is so hard to be taken seriously as a hip hop artist in this day and age. If you're doing these things, I just want you to know, you're just perpetuating the image, not being yourself, and it makes people more skeptical of the artists who try to get attention legitimately. Here's the things I hate:

-People that write with all caps.... like that makes it more important?

-People that take pictures of their money... like we really think you're wealthy cuz you have this cash you just took out of the bank to take a picture with, and even if you are wealthy, like people really believe you made that money doing music

- Posting statuses that bitch about how fake and undeserving other artists are and how you're gonna save hip hop from them when your music is... as fake and cliche as it gets

-posting in your status what brand of clothes you just bought, or posting it under a picture of yourself

- posting things like "if you're not listening to XXXX I don't know what the fuck you're doing" ... fans are a privilege to have, not a right

-Artists that always refer to 'Haters' in their posts when everyone knows that people don't really care that much. They're just looking for other people to say "Gotta love the haters, use em as motivation man, means people are noticing ya... cliche statement cliche statement etc." Maybe it means there are parts of your art that people don't like for some reason, and you should ask yourself why... or you're just making 'haters' up

-Posting something ridiculous like "I'm the best rapper you've ever heard check out my music" so people check it out just cuz your claim is so ridiculous that you don't even believe it yourself.

-posting ANYTHING about your 'swag'
